Description:
The Neural Circuit Development Research Unit headed by Dr. Artur Kania is seeking candidates to fill in the position of Bioinformatician. It is a temporary full time position (2 years), that may be extended for a longer period of time.
Responsibilities:
Summary of responsibilities:
- Process, analyse and integrate single cell / nucleus omics data (RNAseq, ATACseq, etc) generated in the lab and available in public databases;
- Perform cross-species analysis of above data;
- Able to work in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
- A graduate degree (M. Sc. or Ph.D. or equivalent) in bioinformatics or a closely related field;
- Good knowledge of biology, notably of gene regulation mechanisms;
- Proven experience with analysing NGS data;
- Experience with single cell omics data analysis tools (e.g. Seurat, Scanpy)
- Extensive experience with R bioinformatics packages or python.
- Be authorised to work in Canada (non-negotiable)
