Description:

This fellowship (offering $35K-$40K annually for four years) is offered to work on developing computational algorithms in cancer and epigenetics. The potential projects range from data analysis to developing deep-learning algorithms. Learn more about our research at:

Responsibilities:

Learning Objectives: A strong focus in the lab is placed on the integration of mathematical and biological knowledge.

Expected Outcomes and Expectations:

  • Our students publish 3-5 papers on average during the program.
  • Attend at least one domestic or international conference annually.
  • Weekly in-person meetings with PIs.
  • Monthly presentations at lab meetings
  • Students are expected to collaborate with experimental labs, including those at Queen’s University (Maria Aristizabal’s lab), McGill University, the University of Colorado, the University of Florida, and the National Institutes of Health (USA).
Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • BSc or MSc degree
  • Calculus II, Linear Algebra, and Analytic Geometry, introductory or advanced level (preferably)
  • Basic knowledge of Biology
  • Python/R programming skills
