Postdoctoral position available

The Baloni lab  at the School of Health Sciences and the Purdue Institute for Integrative Neuroscience, Purdue University, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to conduct research on in silico human brain model using multiomics data, ranging from transcriptome to phenome, with a focus on neurodegenerative diseases. The applicant will also be involved in an interdisciplinary project involving human gut microbiome research. The projects are federally funded, and the lab environment is highly supportive.

Responsibilities:

The applicant will have the opportunity to develop new computational tools and algorithms for tackling multiomics data, interact with world class scientists, work in a multidisciplinary environment, mentor undergraduate students in the lab, present the work in seminars/conferences, publish the results and develop skillsets for their next career stage.

Qualifications:
  • PhD degree in computational biology/bioinformatics/computer science/biomedical sciences or related discipline
  • Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: Python, R, Java. Knowledge of MATLAB is preferred.
  • Experience with multiomics analyses is preferred
