What is the difference between bioinformatics.ca, Canadian Bioinformatics Workshops and the Canadian Bioinformatics Hub?
Since 1999, Bioinformatics.ca was the home for the Canadian Bioinformatics Workshops (CBW). In 2024, we were awarded a Health Research Training Platform (HRTP) Grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Genome Canada. This grant enabled Bioinformatics.ca to scale into the Canadian Bioinformatics Hub (CBH). To maintain our core identity, CBH uses the same domain as before: bioinformatics.ca. In turn, CBW has become one of our training providers, and interacts with CBH as all of our other training partners.

Is this the primary site of the Canadian Bioinformatics Hub?
Yes, bioinformatics.ca is the URL for the Canadian Bioinformatics Hub. Where you need to interact with our content, you will be redirected to our ‘Hub User Portal‘ at hub.bioinformatics.ca where you can register for a workshop, post a job or participate in mentoring activities.
What will happen to the Canadian Bioinformatics Workshops?
As a training provider for the Hub, the Canadian Bioinformatics Workshops are listed under ‘Training’ in the main menu. Workshops will continue with expanded frequency, locations, and topics as we scale.
