We are seeking applications from motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position at the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research at the University of Toronto School of Medicine. The successful candidate will carry out bioinformatics research applying mass spectrometry for quantitative analysis in personalized medicine.
The appointee will work directly under the supervision of the PI, Dr. Hannes Röst, and conduct experiments using a state-of-the-art mass spectrometric instrument and write software and algorithms for data analysis. Several projects with preliminary data are available, depending on the candidate’s interest and previous experience.
The Röst lab is interested in understanding biology on a personalized level and to use next-generation mass spectrometry to analyze proteomic and metabolomic data in high-throughput. The main focus of the lab is in peptide and small molecule quantification using next-generation approaches, including data-independent acquisition (DIA or SWATH-MS) and developing novel tools and workflows to be used in the community. We apply these tools to address questions in systems biology and personalized medicine.

- PhD in biology, bioinformatics, computer science or a related field.
