The postdoc(s) will contribute to modeling different types of biological networks such as metabolic pathways and genetic pathways, and their interactions, through qualitative modeling, graphical models, and deep learning using heterogeneous data from the genome, the transcriptome, the metabolome, and the phenotype. These models will be prepared to support downstream work building disease signatures based on physiology. They will also prepare for machine learning tasks such as diagnosing diseases, assessing risks, predicting the evolution of a disease or its recovery, and identifying best treatment options within the framework of precision medicine. Deep learning models, graphical models, and analogical reasoning architectures and processes will be compared and considered synergistically to maximize the ability to reason from these models. The postdoc(s) will also participate in assisting the work of graduate students working on this project, participate in publications writing, and contribute to future grant writing. This position is initially for 1 year with a possibility of renewal for 1 or 2 more years.
The postdoc(s) will work in the Intelligent Bio Systems Lab of SUNY Oswego, located in Syracuse, under the direction of Dr. Isabelle Bichindaritz.
PhD in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, or related disciplines (preferred). Experience in the following areas would be an advantage: Machine learning Artificial intelligence Bioinformatics
