Senior Bioinformatician

Reporting directly to the lead of MIMs Solutions team, you will work closely with life scientists, bioinformaticians, biostatisticians, data scientists, AI and software engineers. This full time position will focus on designing data integration and multi-omic modeling strategies and to support their implementations within MIMs solutions. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in systems biology, in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis, particularly as applied to large-scale, high-dimensional data sets. In particular, we are interested in candidates who have experience with multi-omic data modalities to support the inference of gene functionality and co-functionality, functional interaction, systems modeling applied to systems stratification, biomarkers and drug targets identification.

Responsibilities:

Design and implement workflows using state-of-the-art bioinformatic, biostatistic and machine learning methodologies Provide templates for data visualization for the interface and the documentation Develop methods for integrating heterogeneous Omics data Maintain MIMs common core bioinformatics libraries Report Quality Assurance and Tests on bioinformatic, biostatistic and machine learning pipeline. Create appropriate documentation Mentor junior team members

Qualifications:

M.Sc. or Ph.D. with 5 years experience in Computer science, Bioinformatics or Computational Biology with significant experience in bioinformatics, biostatistics and computer science Proven experience in large genomics projects (including raw sequencing data, gene expression, germline and somatic mutational events, copy number variants, methylation, proteomic, metabolomic, pathway analysis, network biology, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, etc.) Experience with bioinformatics resources, databases, tools and common standard formats Demonstrated programming skills using Python, C++, R in a Linux environment Knowledge of XML, JSON and nosql databases Demonstrated graphical representation skills using R, D3, plotly, javascript, angular or any relevant framework Experience in bioinformatics service deliveries The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail-oriented and derives joy from bringing rigor, structure, and organization to large datasets, complex systems, and intricate analyses; You derive satisfaction from thoroughly and thoughtfully describing a system for both technical and non-technical audiences; Superlative organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; A flexible attitude to job roles as well as a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
