IRCM is seeking an Analyst in Bioinformatics to assist in the development and use of analytic pipelines for NGS data. The successful candidate will work with a team of bioinformaticians in order to help IRCM community.

Summary of Responsibilities

Under the direction of the facility manager, the successful candidate will work in the collection, management, interpretation, and analysis of genomics data, with a focus on next-generation sequencing data. His/Her time will be devoted to IRCM’s Bioinformatics Core Facility (BIF) that handles data processing requests from different research labs at IRCM. The analyst will be interacting with IRCM users to provide analysis services, technical support, counseling and training. The candidate will be responsible for advanced genomics analysis and should therefore have a solid background in bioinformatics to develop Python and R analytical pipelines in a Linux environment. Under the direction of Dr Jacques Drouin, the successful candidate will work on the collection, management, interpretation, and analysis of genomics data, with a focus on next-generation sequencing data. He/she will join the Laboratory of Molecular Genetics and work in close collaboration with other members of the laboratory on projects related to Epigenetics and Gene Regulation. The candidate will be responsible for advanced genomics analysis and should therefore have a solid background in bioinformatics as well as solid notions in molecular biology. Also, knowledge of machine learning would be an asset.

Qualifications:

M.Sc. in bioinformatics or computer science with a minimum of 2-5 years related experience. Proficient in Linux, Python, bash and R. Experience with NGS data: RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, ATAC-seq, single-cell, WES, WGS, etc… Experience with multi-omics data integration and high dimensional data analysis is an asset (classification, dimension reduction, machine learning…). Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a deadline driven environment. Knowledge of French and English is required.
