Process Development Coordinator - CCGI


The role of the CCGI at the GSC is to contribute to patient care by developing, validating, and running clinical bioinformatics pipelines and generating clinical patient reports. Reporting to the Group Leader of the Sequencing Team, the Process Development Coordinator will take the lead role in pipeline validation.


Duties/Accountabilities •Oversees the validation and implementation of pipelines into the CCGI team. •Takes the lead on validation design, content, and quality assurance documentation. •Analyze and assess sequencing data including alignments and variant calling. •Perform critical concordance, LoD, sensitivity and specificity analysis and data assessment.


Qualifications •Graduation from a recognized Bachelor’s program in an appropriate discipline such as Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry (PhD) preferred); •Five (5) years of recent related experience in a research and or clinical laboratory including supervisory experience


An equivalent combination of education, training and experience acceptable to the GSC Group Leaders.

Eligibility •Experience analyzing and assessing the quality of NGS data, including: ◦short-read alignment and ◦variant-calling (small variants, copy-number variants, fusions),

•Strong skills in statistical analysis and data visualization (e.g. with R), •Sufficient molecular biology background to take part in designing validations and drawing conclusions from the results, •Ability to work independently with minimal oversight, •Ability to collaborate with other CCGI members to complete pipeline validations in a timely manner, •Strong analytical and written communication skills, •High attention to detail, and •Experience in experimental design.
