Postdoctoral fellow (Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or Genetics)

Postdoctoral research scholar positions are available in the laboratory of Guillaume Lettre at the Université de Montréal and the Montreal Heart Institute. In particular, we are seeking postdocs with expertise in computational biology, bioinformatics and/or human genetics to work with a stellar team of international investigators on the post- GWAS variant-to-gene-to-function challenge. The project, involving the analysis of vast amount of omics data, will take advantage of the recently launched and NHGRI-funded IGVF Consortium (https://bit.ly/2YK6c7i). This is a fantastic opportunity to broaden your computational skills and research network.

Research in our laboratory (http://www.mhi-humangenetics.org) is broadly focused on human cardiovascular and hematological disease genetics, and includes both human genetic and functional genomic approaches. Our lab is composed of a talented group of wet-lab scientists and computational biologists.

Responsibilities:

  1. To analyze many large-scale omic datasets - including cutting-edge base editing screens - to link genetic variation with genes and functions relevant for heart and blood diseases.
  2. To interact with members of the international IGVF Consortium.

Qualifications:

PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics, human genetics, functional genomics or relevant fields.
