PHD STUDENT FOR A COMPUTATIONAL BREAST CANCER RESEARCH PROJECT

We are aiming at developing novel computational approaches for cancer research with a major focus on characterizing the molecular background of tumors across different omics levels and its evolution under therapy. We want to learn about mechanisms of treatment resistance and/or cancer recurrence and to stratify personalized treatment options. Our projects are motivated by actual clinical research questions and we work in a highly interactive environment with very close contact to clinicians and wet-lab researchers.

Responsibilities:

The PhD student will work on the integrative analysis of multiple molecular profiles of breast cancer patients including data from DNA- and RNA-sequencing as well as clinical annotation.

Qualifications:

Applicants should have a strong interest in cancer research and computational biology. Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) obtained in any related field such as bioinformatics/biology/medicine/mathematics/computer science/etc. Experience in analyzing genomic data sets is a plus as well as experience in cancer research.
