Senior Bioinformatics Analyst
University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Senior Bioinformatics Analyst in our Bioinformatics and HPC Core department.

University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. The scope of research and complexity of cases at UHN have made it a national and international source for discovery, education and patient care. Research across UHN’s five research institutes spans the full spectrum of diseases and disciplines, including cancer, cardiovascular sciences, transplantation, neural and sensory sciences, musculoskeletal health, rehabilitation sciences, and community and population health.
Analysis of next-gen sequence data including RNA, WES, ATAC, ChIP, single cell sequencing data. Developing and maintaining existing pipelines and Identifying and testing new tools and methods for NGS data analysis. Integrative analysis from multi-data types generated internally as well as use of publicly available datasets. Providing reports, analysis results and descriptions of methods used.
B.Sc or M.Sc in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or Biology Knowledge of bioinformatics, with an emphasis on genome sequence analysis and gene annotation. Background in biology, genetics, and statistics. Experience with single cell data analysis is a plus. Experience with bioinformatics resources, databases, tools and common standard formats. Experience developing and implementing algorithms for the processing of large genomics and biomedical data sets. Proficiency in Linux and writing scripts in python and R is essential. Effective oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills Familiarity with HPC environments and how to run applications in HPC clusters is highly desirable.
