Bioinformatician/ Microbiome Data Analyst

We are currently seeking a creative, self-motivated individual with an appetite for problem solving and to assist with the development and optimization of Nucliq Bio’s discovery platform. The successful individual will focus on the development and validation of bioinformatic pipelines for analyzing microbiome sequencing data. You will lead the work on data analysis, exploring and explaining the data with the team members within the company, reporting directly to Chief Technology Officer, to impact Nucliq Bio’s product roadmap. You will have the opportunity to define, execute and publish new research, collaborating with eminent academics in the field.

Responsibilities:

• Microbiome sequence data analysis, reporting and datasets preparation. • Write scripts to analyse raw sequence data. • Administrate the cloud servers for data storage and transfers. • Perform analytical processing of the samples. • Prepare appropriate documentation and maintain accurate records. • Work closely with R&D team members to discuss on experiments and prototype new technologies.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in any of the STEM field (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics), or a bachelor’s degree with at least two years experience. • Previous experience/exposure to Next Generation Sequencing data and microbiome processing pipelines (qiime, mothur, Bioconductor, Nextflow) • Expertise in programming language R, Python and Linux environment • Demonstrated skills in statistical analysis (ANOVA, regression, clustering, phylogenetics, etc) • Attention to detail, and commitment to the reliability of research and work output. • Self-motivated, ability to prioritize and deliver research in a fast-paced, milestone-driven environment. • Ability to do laboratory work related to NGS protocols, knowledge on shotgun metagenomic analysis tools, and/or understanding NGS databases will be considered an asset.
