Research Coordinator - cellular electrophysiology

The Computational Genomics group led by Dr. Shreejoy Tripathy at the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics at CAMH ( is seeking a full-time, contract Research Coordinator (1 year). The successful candidate will serve as liaison for a series of projects related to the analysis, integration, and sharing of Patch-clamp based cellular neuro-electrophysiology data. This is a 100% “dry-lab” position.


liaising with collaborating experimental labs, coordination of software development tasks with software developers and undergraduate software engineering students, applying computational scripts for neuro-electrophysiology data analysis, developing technical documentation illustrating computational analyses and workflows in easy to understand language, organizing and managing team meetings, contributing to the design and content of online websites and tools (such as, and preparing and editing reports; including coordinating for grant proposals on behalf of Principal Investigators


The successful candidate will have a Masters in Neuroscience or a related discipline combined with two (2) years experience working in a relevant area in academia or industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and passion for cellular neuroscience research with multiple years of hands-on experience with Patch-clamp electrophysiology.

Experience with writing open source computational scripts for data analysis (such as in Matlab, Python, or R) is preferred. Evidence working collaboratively in a team setting is an asset. Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills, including teaching experience and science communication to the public, and working collaboratively in a team setting are strong assets. Experience with molecular biology (such as qPCR or RNA-sequencing) or bioinformatics is a plus but is not required.

Scripting skills and data visualization experience is an asset. The ability to independently manage multiple tasks and prioritize conflicting priorities is required. The successful candidate must have strong time management, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to think creatively with a focus on results and outcomes is preferred.
