Research Scientist I

The development of a method of cytogenomics and molecular genetics by a genome sequencing approach. This research project will be carried out over a period of 2 years, the purpose of which is to develop a test for the detection of balanced and non-balanced chromosomal abnormalities balanced more effective. Results will improve test resolution currently used cytogenetics, precision, cost-effectiveness and integration into genomic medicine.

Responsibilities:

The professional research incumbent for this position will be responsible for:

  • Tasks related to maintenance, specialized technologies, gathering information and experimentation related to research activities.
  • Participate in the development of research protocols and their implementation;
  • Collaborate in data collection, baseline analysis and interpretation of results; Provide technical and methodological support to laboratory staff; Select the research material, recommend and execute the operations of order and reception;
  • Communicate the progress of his research work to the researcher;
  • Contribute to the preparation of the methodological sections of scientific articles;
  • Participate in the adaptation of research tools and the development of new methods on analysis;
  • Perform other related duties.

Qualifications:

Hold an undergraduate degree in health science;

  • Possess verbal and written communication skills in English and French;
