You will study the impact of silage on milk quality. This will involve analysis of microbial communities in silage and milk in collaboration with graduate students (DNA isolation, library preparation, sequencing and bioinformatics). Knowledge of qPCR would be an advantage. Whole genome sequencing and analysis will be carried out on select microbial isolates.
• You will work closely with the principal investigator, other postdoctoral scientists, graduate and undergraduate students in planning and carrying out research protocols in the defined research areas. • You will assist with other research activities including: coordination and operation of the research program, undergraduate and graduate student training; • You will carry out duties related to managing purchases, as well as preparation of reports and manuscripts for publication.
• PhD in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Animal/Plant Science or related field; • Excellent written and oral communication skills; • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
