Job Type and Pay: We are looking for a talented Bioinformatician. Pay will be in accordance with abilities and experience.

Full-time only Position is remote No agencies Must work a minimum of 4 hours within PST time zone between 9AM to 8PM PST


Interfacing with developers to help design databases Finding databases to use and refining the dataset in order to make it more useful and fit within our database Building scrapers and using natural language processing to gather science data Managing our ability to analyze whole genome Consult with researchers to analyze problems, recommend technology-based solutions, or determine computational strategies Analyze large molecular datasets such as genomic sequence data Provide scientific support to a variety of teams across the company in a way that makes scientific knowledge accessible to a wide audience Provide statistical and computational tools for biologically based activities such as genetic analysis, measurement of gene expression, and gene function determination Create or modify web-based bioinformatics tools Work collaboratively with departments such as marketing, business development, and developers to coordinate product development or improvement Excellent written and verbal communication skills Hands-on experience working with very large datasets in Python Research focus on human population genetics, linguistics Ability to write and communicate complex information to the lay audience


PhD level skills in bioinformatics. You don’t need to have a PhD, but you need to be on that skill level. Develop methods and perform analyses that will advance the understanding of human genetics, lab markers and shape SelfDecode’s consumer product Experience in algorithm development and machine learning approaches…Creating algorithms for polygenic risk scores, and for combing data - such as genetics, labs and phenotype-therapy data
